Canada's Kayama Enterprises Ltd. (British Columbia) was established in September 2000 by Doug Yokoyama (President) & Daniel Leung (CEO).

Kayama Enterprises Ltd. have seen themselves growing steadily yearly balancing between importing and exporting of seafood & the company policy of providing customers with detail explanation of fish processing and catering to the customer orders and requirement efficiently.

One of the reasons behind the steady growth is the increase & expansion of sales in Canada, BC.

The major export item is Albacore Tuna, the Japanese consumers have readily accepted Kayama's Tuna that Albacore Tuna from Kayama is best.

Kayama Enterprise are the only exhibitor from the west coast in the Canada Pavilion that is currently held in Aichi Japan and they will present themselves on 16 May event "Richmond Day".

With 16 full-time and more than 90 (peak period) part-time employees working now as compared to 2 years ago, Kayama have really expanded with yearly sales hitting 10 millions Canadian dollars.

Kayama Enterprises Ltd. handles many type of seafood and the main items are Albacore Tuna, Wild salmon, Ikura, Farmed Atlantic Salmon, wild king salmon, wild pink salmon, spotted prawn, Black cod, herring spawn in kelps, sardines, snow crab, bottom fishes etc. They have also set up a line for herring roe processing & other value added products that were produced according to customer requirement either in fresh or frozen form.

Import items includes prawn, crabmeat and basa fillet from Vietnam & Thailand, Unagi from china etc.

Doug Yokoyama's vision of having a good balance between import and export has materialized with 60% of export to Japan. Import sales in Canada increase to 25% and15% sales to the USA (25% as compared to 2 years ago).
